Crazy Busy

Wow, this week has been crazy. First it was my Beautiful girl's 3rd Birthday.
I don't know how she got to be 3 already? That flew right on by. She had a Princess Dinosaur birthday cake as requested. It was adorable and perfect and delish!
Finley was spoiled per usual. All in all a perfect 3rd birthday.

Aaron has been in Montana for the past 3 days. Looking for a house, getting the plant together and interviewing employees.

I have been at my parents with the kids and my sister, trying not to think about all the stuff I need to get done.
Packing

Throwing shit away

Packing

Packing
oh and packing...did I mention that already?
Aaron said we didn't need professional movers, I disagreed and still do. He says he doesn't trust anyone else to move our stuff.
Um...professional...key word.
I trust them, especially if don't have to pack and can take my kids to play. Then come home to a packed house, Hop in our car and move to our new home. Sounds perfect to me.
Not to Aaron, therefore he will be doing the packing.
All of the packing.
Although I did throw a bunch of pots and pans and kitchen crap away today, and pack up Finley's baby clothes.
I'm done.
No more packing for me.
Sorry Charlie...thats what you get for not getting me the professionals.
Ha!
So now I'm on the hunt for a new vehicle and once the house is packed we move. Which is probably as soon as next week.
Eeek...Bye bye Washington, Hello Montana.

Christmas

Christmas was wonderful. The kids got spoiled rotten of course. Aaron and I got spoiled as well.
Christmas Eve was spent at my parent's house. It was a nice relaxing evening of exchanging gifts and eating lots of yummy meats, cheeses, dips and breads and drinking wine. Perfect Christmas Eve!

Christmas morning was a blast, the kids were so excited to open gifts and try them out right away. Later in the afternoon my parents, grandma and sister came over for Christmas dinner.
All in all it was a nice relaxing time, the kids had a wonderful day.

Aaron and I have not exchanged gifts yet, our gift to eachother is a date night. Dinner and shopping, I can't wait. It has been a long time since Aaron and I have had a date night or taken eachother shopping. I'm really looking forward to it.

Here are some photos of our day! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.
Now it's time for Finley's birthday on monday and packing for Montana!

Just LISTEN!!!

Finley is having a really hard time listening lately. I'm about to lose it. The kid just does not listen. I will tell her to do something, will tell her not to do something, try to get her attention while she is playing or watching a show. DOES NOT LISTEN.

When she doesn't want to do something I have asked her to do she just sits and whines and cries until I get so upset I just give in. I'm sick of it, and I really feel anger build up in my chest, I just want to scream. When I do raise my voice she will listen, but why should I have to yell at her?

I hate yelling, it's mean. I don't like to be yelled at myself so why would I like to yell at her. It kills me.

Today we went down to the grocery store and she was super good the whole time. It was very busy and she kept close and listened to me throughout the store. Then as soon as we got to the register she started taking candy off the shelf and asking for it, when I said no she started to get very whiny and would sit on the floor and pout. Ezra was trying to climb out of the cart into my arms wanting down so it started to get a bit hectic. I even got a glare from the lady behind me. It really wasn't that bad.
So thanks for the unnecessary glare lady.
Your dumb.

As we were leaving, Finley started to throw a major fit because I wouldn't let her rent a movie.
What the hell?
Seriously? She was good the whole time, and now the meltdown begins
Screaming, hitting Ezra in the car, freaking out like no other.
All because she couldn't rent a movie.
She continued to act this way the whole way home.

"Finley, you are acting horrible. You are going straight to bed when we get home."
"WAHHH WAHHH" Blubbering mess, I tell you. Blubbering.
As soon as we pulled up to the house, I told her to go down to her room. Her response
"I won't be hoorable never again."

Ugh...I die. Seriously?

The whining has continued all day and I feel like I want to cry. I really do not know what to do. I keep thinking I'm the horrible one. Maybe I'm just a bad mom and let her get away with too much or don't discipline the right way. My patience is wearing thin and I feel like failure.
I just want her to listen to me.

Here We Go

About a week ago Aaron called me and mentioned that his work bought a plant in Montana, and they weren't sure what they were going to do with it, move all the equipment here or run it from over there. Either way this could be beneficial to Aaron's job. Currently he is the supervisor of the Fusing lab at his work. Aaron works very long hours and busts his butt. Aaron has always been a very hard worker and excels at everything he does.
I thought nothing of the thought that the business had bought another plant, they buy equipment often and it didn't really phase me. Two days later Aaron said that it had been mentioned to send him down to run the new plant. His words were

"It's like a 10 percent chance babe, but would you be willing to move to Montana?"

"Sure, I'm okay with Montana, it's beautiful there." I said, still thinking nothing of it.

"Like I said it's a small chance, just mentioning it." He responded

Then the conversation was over and I hung up the phone. I cozied back up in bed and went to sleep.

Next day

"Um babe? So I think the chances have just increased by a lot. Your still okay with moving to Missoula right?"

"Yeah, it's kind of exciting. I think it would be a great place to live, I hear it's like Bellingham so I'm for it."

Next Day: Aaron comes to me and says we need to sit down and figure out what the terms would be for moving and all that. So this is real, we are maybe moving to Montana. Aaron goes into a meeting with the owners of the company and comes out happy, the next day he calls me and says

"Pack your bags, we are moving to Montana."

Eeekk, we are moving to Montana. Which I'm totally for, very nervous, but also very excited. This is good for us, this is a promotion and a great oppurtunity. It happened so quickly and we move within the next 3 weeks or so. So now I'm an anxious mess, thinking of everything I need to do.

1. Find a house
2. Pack all of our stuff
3. Throw out all of our stuff- okay, only kidding, but I would love to do this. But unfortunatly the promotion does not invovle millions and I can't afford all new stuff. Bummer! Haha
4. Make mulitple trips to Goodwill to get rid of toys and clothing the kids no longer use.
5. Take all our utilities out of our name and get them set up in new house, which we don't have yet.

And a million other things that I can't remember because my brain is freaking out right now, thinking "How in the hell am I going to do all this in a matter of weeks."

So I will take a deep breath and say Here we go, we are moving to Montana!

Lotionista Feature and {Giveaway}

During the winter months my skin gets super dry and I often get eczema patches here and there. I needed a good thick lotion that was going to not only moisturize my skin but also take care of those little red patches. Lotionista is a great shop on Etsy that offers wonderful skin care products.

Etsy shop owner, Cicely Siller, is military wife, mother of three, and an elementary school teacher. Lotionista Handmade Lotion came about in her experiments with handmade recipes where she found some stuff that actually helped combat her infant's eczema. Cicely makes her lotions from scratch, by hand and in small batches to ensure freshness. Each lotion contains just 6 ingredients: distilled water, olive oil, vegetable glycerin, emulsifying wax, optiphen and fragrance/essential oil.

Cicely sent me two samples of her amazing lotion. A white tea and ginger scent and also a Fresh scent. Not only has it helped with my dry skin it has been leaving me smelling wonderful. I love how soft the scents are. I'm one who doesn't like overwhelming smells, so these lotions are perfect for me. I usually have a problem finding lotion I like because of this and always opt for unscented. But Cicely's lotions are wonderful and smell amazing. I even feel safe putting these on the kids.

Lotionista is giving one of my readers a chance to win a lotion of their choice. So head on over to Lotionista and come back here and tell me what fragrance you would choose if you won.

jd baby review and {Giveaway}

Finley and Ezra both have cold feet all the time. Probably because I can never find any of their tiny socks to put on their feet. jd baby creates heirloom quality garments for baby. Which are handmade from natural, organic and vintage materials. created from original, hand drafted patterns and meticulously sewn by Joan Durocher.
jd baby focuses on eco-friendly business practices whenever possible, utilizing renewable resources, upcycling {re-purposing} and simple retro resourcefulness.
Joan has been quite the seamstress from an early age with over 40 years of experience. With her trusty singer sewing machine by her side, Joan officially launched joan durocher baby in 2009.
Joan sent Ezra a pair of his very own Dragon slippers. As soon as I got them I put them on his feet and he hasn't taken them off since. (well except at bathtime) He loves them, and points at them while oohing and awwing. I took him out in them yesterday because he seemed so cozy, I didn't want to take them off. He got a ton of compliments on how cute his slippers were and I couldn't agree more, they are darling! Soft and durable, Ezra is able to walk smoothly on the hardwood without slipping thanks to the grips on the bottom. These really are the perfect slipper.

Check out these adorable bunny slippers, or how about these ladybugs for your cute little girl?

Or these duck feet for your little duckling? And I just love these little lambs!

Joan is truely talented, these little slippers are amazing and the best part? She can make them in adult sizes too, how awesome is that?

Joan has graciously offered one of my readers the chance to win a pair of slippers of their choice. All you need to do to enter is head on over jd baby, look around then come back here and tell me what slippers you would choose and for who?

Bye Bye Mullet

I know I said I wasn't going to cut Ezra's hair. But seriously the mullet was getting out of control. Everyone was telling us that he looked silly and like a baby straight out of the 80's. And to be honest, he did. Totally 80's baby! So in to the hair salon we ventured. I was very nervous and not sure if I really wanted to cut the hair. Why make him grow faster than he already is? But it needed to be done, as much as it killed me.
Ezra did great, he was a little whiney at first and not sure where he was. He sat on my lap as the hair dresser went to work. He loved having his hair combed and was in aww with the hair dryers going and the electric clippers buzzing.

He now looks like a little man. I miss the mullet, but he is pretty adorable with a big boy hair cut!

the j.a.r. collection Feature and Review

Who has tons of jewelry and no where to keep it? I do. Okay, I don't have a ton, but I do have a good amount that does need a place. I keep mine in a drawer and when I go to get it out it is always tangled up with another piece of jewelery. I'm in desperate need of a neat and clean way to store my pretty peices.
Who needs to decorate their home, nursery or bedroom but can't afford to do them all at once or find great pieces that will add the right touch? I've definitly been there. Not fun and a bit frustrating.
Well I found a great way to do all these things; the j.a.r. collection. A company of three moms who came together after the “r.” in the j.a.r. collection was struggling to decorate her home, a nursery and her office all at once without spending a fortune, she discovered a way to stretch fabric across a frame to create wall art. The result was so amazing the three friends set up the j.a.r. lab and experimented with ways to turn fabric into affordable home décor. Bringing you a way to hang your jewelry, not only neatly but beautifully. A way to add color to any boring room and a way to add that missing accent to your nursery or bedroom.
These pieces are beautiful, fun and so creative. I was sent an adorable jewerly hanger which solves my previous problem of where to store my jewels. I'm very impressed. It is made very nicely and is super cute. I love how it looks in my bathroom and how it adds the perfect touch, and I love the bright blue and green, so fun!

The jewlery hangers could also be used as a key holder, or a headband holder for all your little girls hair accessories.
I love these and think they would make the perfect addition to any little girls bedroom.

This wall art would look great in a nursery above the changing table.

Go check out this wonderful shop and get decorating. I can't wait to order some wall art for my bedroom. We just painted and put new carpet in, so I'm definitly in need of some of the j.a.r. collection's beautiful work to add some color and beauty.

Fall Creek Fibers and Teas Review and {Giveaway}

Finley and I love Tea. We drink it on a daily basis and we are always trying and looking to try new kinds. I came across Fall Creek Fibers and Teas on Etsy and knew I had to try Brie's teas. The flavors all sounded wonderful and I couldn't wait to get my hands on these handmade teas. Brie sent me a sampler of 3 teas of my choice. I had a really hard time picking.

I chose Bali, which has Apple pieces, hibiscus flowers, mango pieces, sunflower blossoms. Rejuvenate which is Green tea and cucumber and for my third choice I chose October. Which is Black tea, chocolate, caramel and cranberry. All of these teas had their own unique flavor. The October was naturally sweet and would make a great evening dessert with a little cream and honey. Finley really enjoyed the Bali. I think because it tastes a lot like juice and it would be wonderful iced as well. I'm in love with the Rejuvenate, it's fresh and sweet. This too would make an awesome iced tea. They all came packaged in these cute little tins, making it easy to access and easy to store.
Brie also offers a beautiful assortment of yarns and fibers for your crafting plessure!

I love all these teas and can't wait to try all of Bries teas. She has some great Holiday sampler sets that I have my eyes on. How does Gingerbread Cookies and Peppermint patties sound? DELISH!!!

Brie is offering one of my readers a chance to win the Sampler set of your choice of 3 teas. To enter go to Fall Creek Fibers and come back here leaving me a comment with the 3 teas you would choose if you won.

Holladay Knits {Etsy Shop Review)

As the weather gets colder and colder I'm beginning to bundle the kids up more and myself as well. When we lived in Alaska I had a few warm coats and hats but rarely went outside because it was way too cold some days to even attempt to venture out. As I was perusing Etsy I found this great shop. Holladay Knits, a great shop that features hand knits using top qualty yarns. Holladay offers the most beautiful scarfs in many styles. She uses beautiful quality yarns and thoroughly enjoys her work. Holladay is the Mom of a 3yr old and loves spending time with her her husband and son most of all. She's also a gardener and painter when she can fit those activities into her schedule. She loves filling custom orders and most items in the shop can be made in other colorsay is also a Painter and gardener, as well as a devoted wife and Mother.

Just take a look at her beautiful Work.

This is the Tweedy Circular scarf. I love how versatile this scarf is. It can be worn like a scarf or wrapped twice around like a cowl for warmth. This scarf would look great with a coat or even worn inside with a tee. Knitted in a soft wool blend yarn it measures 7 inches wide and 56 inches long with lots of stretch.

I love this Ravena Caplet. It is very different than any other scarf I have seen. This would be beautiful with a long sleeve shirt. This color is beautiful and perfect for the Holiday season as well.

And my favorite, is the scarf that Holladay sent me. The Bianca Scarflette.

It's gorgeous, warm, and so stylish! I wore it on our trip down to Bellevue this past weekend and it went beautifully with my coat and any shirt or sweater I was wearing inside. It's very soft and not bothersome or itchy like some scarfs can be. I'm in love and got tons of compliments on it.

Head on Over to Holladay Knits and pick up your scarf for this cold weather, who can resist these beautiful warm scarfs? Not me!

The Candy Cane Thief

We have a lttle theif in our house, who goes by the name of Ezra. (or Frankie or Frank, whichever you prefer) He steals candy canes off of the tree. I was quite worried when we put the tree up about Ezra grabbing at the ornaments. He pretty much stays away from them, it's not the shiny bulbs he is attracted to, it's those shiney red and white striped candies that are now hanging at the very top of the tree that he wants. Not because I had to move them, but because Ezra got to the ones on the bottom and ate them...ALL of them. I think he has had at least 5 (or more)candy canes this week. He loves them and devoures them as fast as he can. At first I was a bit concerned and didn't want him to be eating all that candy, but then I thought "Hey, It's CHRISTMAS! Why not?" I mean I indulge in all my favorites during the Holidays. Might as well let the kids have fun and indulge a little too. Afterall it is the best time of the year, whats a few candy canes going to hurt? And plus he is so dang cute eating them!

Alone

I'm grumpy, I'm tired, I'm having a day. You know one of those days where you just want to crawl in bed in a dark room and shut out the whole world? That is me today. I have been fighting a cold for the past few days that little miss Fin has decided to share with the whole family. I have a horrible fever blister and my skin is breaking out...what is going on? Ugh
I also have a bad case of the "I don't wannas." I don't want to clean the kitchen, do the laundry, make dinner, or even get dressed in normal clothes. I have a feeling this is going to be me all week. It's almost bedtime, the kids are in bed and I still feel like I don't want to do anything, I want to climb in my bed with a hot cup of tea and then go to bed and not wake up until tomorrow evening. I just want to be alone. For two seconds, no one demanding juice, yogurt or a banana, and then not eating it. No one telling me that Frankie boy (ezra) took away their toy. And I could do without said Frankie boy freaking out when I say no and then running around the room stomping his feet crying for just one day.
I need to be alone

In a dark room

In a quiet dark room

Did I say alone?

Just for a couple of hours
or a day, whichever?

Bath Time

I Adore this boy!

Little Belties Review

Finley is super tall for her age, but also very thin. I always have a hard time finding pants that fit her. She needs the length of a 4t but the width of a 2t. I hate jean shopping for her, and usually only have one store option. Which can get pretty spendy, since Baby Gap is the only place that carries jeans that somewhat fit. But spending around $30.00 a pair for jeans that she will grow out of in a short amount of time just isn't really worth it. Then I found Little Belties. Belts for toddlers and kids. As soon as I saw the pink dinosaur belt I about died. Fin adores anything dino related right now. This was the perfect belt for her. Melanie of Little Belties sent us the pink dino belt in size 2-4yrs. All her belts come in sizes from 0 months to 8 years. They are very durable, washable, easy to use & of course so darling! I'm very impressed and cannot wait to purchase a couple more for stockings this year. I love the camo print for Ezra and I also love the Owl or Sheep print for either kiddo. I really like how they are neautral so when Fin is done with them Ezra would be able to use them.

These belts really are going to be the perfect addition to the kids' stockings this year. I love stuffing stockings, and I'm always looking for something fun and different every year. Head on over to Little Belties Etsy shop or Little Belties website and have fun picking out these adorable little belts for your little one's stocking!

I'm so very Thankful

I'm thankful for my beautiful children, my husband, my parents and sister and all the many blessings God has given us....and SNOW! It has been snowing all day and has been so VERY beautiful!!! Everything was covered and the snow came down all day. Ezra staring out the window oohhing and aawwing was absolutely adorable. This is his first snow, he was so thrilled about this new white cold stuff and couldn't wait to get out in it. We did go out, but not for long. Ezra would have stayed out a lot longer then we did, but sissy was cold and has a cold too so she didn't last long.
This eveing I got Finley all bundled up to go out and build a snowman with Aaron and she didnt even barely step out the door before she said it was way too cold and she was back in bed watching tv with me. Aaron stayed out and build a gynormo snowman- pictures to come.
All in all, today was a great Thanksgiving, now bring on CHRISTMAS!!!!

The Sweet Sugar Beet Review and {Giveaway}

I'm really excited to share The Sweet Sugar Beet with you. Haley of The Sweet Sugar Beet is a 29 year old mom of 3 babes. A 3 year old daughter and 19 month old twin boys. As a busy mom she still finds time to create these fun cosmetic bags. Haley says her true passion is creating, although she would love to "relax" after the kids go to bed at night she finds sitting in front of her sewing machine is the best way for her to wind down. Haley started the business when her daughter was 9 months old. She says "Ever since I was little I can't remember a time when I wasn't creating something or thinking about what I was going to create next."
Haley is also a self taught crafter. Her husband bought her, her first sewing machine for Easter. She litterally did not even know how to thread a needle. Her first project was a pair of pajama pants. Then came the cosmetic bags. She wanted a new cosmetic bag and so she found some fun fabric, read the back of the zipper package and so became The sweet Sugar Beet after everyone in her family fell is love with her crafting and prompted her to sell these wonderful bags. Haley grew up on a farm and worked in the sugar beet fields with her dad and brothers every summer, thats where the name of her shop comes from. Which I love and think is so neat that she incorprated a peice of her childhood into what she loves to do!

Haley sent me one of her beautiful large cosmetic bags. I love it, it is very well made and so pretty. It fits all my make-up, but is still small enough to fit into any overnight bag.

Black Pretty Petals

You can even design your own cosmetic bag.

Haley is offering one of my readers a $25.00 credit to her shop. She wants you to get creative with what you buy. So Head on over to The Sweet Sugar Beet, look around a bit then come back here and leave a comment saying what you would buy if you won.

Sprout Candle Shop

I love candles, especially the kind of candles that fill your home with wonderful aromas. I found Sprout Candle Shop on Etsy, (of course on etsy where else? I fear I may have an unhealthy obsession) and was immediatly attracted to the soft colors of these beauties and the scents that Jill offers in her candle shop. Jill sent me four beautiful candles that are currently lit by my bedside and filling my room with the sweet smell of vanilla and fresh cut christmas tree.
All of Jill's candles are made by hand when your order is placed. The candles are made with all natural ingredients which includes premium wax, fragrance oils, and cotton wicks. Soy candles burn completely clean, so the jar is reusable when the candle is done. Also if you spill soy wax, it comes up easily with hot water. Easy clean up! I know we all have probably spilled candle wax and had a super hard time getting it up. I have ruined table clothes due to store bought candles. So these are perfect for me.

Jill also sent me a Clean Cotton scented candle and let me tell you, it smells so fresh and vibrant, but not overwhelming. That is what I love about these new amazing candles of mine. Although they smell wonderful and fill my house with their delicious aroma they are not over powering or make you feel sick after a while. I have had many different brands of candles but have yet to find the perfect balanced candle until now. Jill has so many scents, I personally think the coconut scent and the peppermint eucalyptus sound heavenly. I highly reccomend you head on over to Sprout Candle Shop and do some holiday shopping for the candle lovers in your life. I hope you enjoy Jill's candles as much as I do.
