She is Here!

Meet our new baby girl,

Josephine Pearl Hillman.

Weighing in at 6lbs 11oz, little Josie entered this world on Dec 31st at 12:19am after 7 hrs of quick and intense labor. She is absolutely PERFECT and we cannot get enough of her sweet little face and snuggling. I will post her birth story and more photos once we get home and settled in.

38 weeks tomorrow

Almost done! I have been in a little pain for the past few days over here with lots of consistant and painful contractions. Yesterday I had a ton of pressure down low and just an irritating feeling in my ute, so I called my OB. He sent me to L&D for monitoring.
I called my friend to come watch the kids and calle Aaron just in case it was something, and definitley hoping it was. Threw our bags in the car and we took off.
Well after 2 hours of consistant contractions, a urine test and progress check, they sent me home. I was 1 1/2 cm dialted on arrival and after 2 hrs there was no change to my cervix so back home I went. I'm so dissapointed, still contracting and still so ready for this baby to come out!
If baby girl isn't out on her own soon we will be meeting her Dec 30th. So lots of prayers are needed that she comes on her own...but not on Christmas, she is not allowed to come then! So tomorrow, tomorrow would be good. Haha!

Hospital Bag Petunia Pickle Bottom Style!

I'm 37 weeks and 1 day pregnant and ready to have this baby girl! I have been so uncomfortable and anxious, so I'm hoping baby girl gets the memo and she starts to get ready soon. She is super low so that's a start or just helpful for labor anyhow. I thought it was about time I start packing my hospital bag for this little girl and I.
Petunia Pickle Bottom made that easy for me, by providing me this beautiful bag! The Touring Tote in Champagne Roll. I absolutely love this bag and can't wait to put it to use, starting with the hospital visit.

For Baby Girls Bag:

4 outfits (Ezra peed through 2, my mom took them home and washed them and he still ended up coming home in hospital provided clothing)
2 Swaddling Blankets
Pacifier
2 pairs of socks
Booties
One piece winter suit

For me:
Hot mama Hospital gown (more to come on this beautiful gown)
Breast Pads
Sweats and Tee
Nursing bra
Nursing tank
3 pairs of  panties
Chapstick (it gets hot in there and my lips always get chapped during labor)
Mini Aveda Shampoo and Conditioner
Brush
Body wash
Tooth brush/paste

The touring tote has plenty of space in this compact looking bag to fill with everything we need for our hopefully short visit. Not only is the bag just gorgeous but it has tons of little pockets to fit the smaller items making it easy and accessible.

A little info about this gorgeous bag:
Charcoal/Rose/Petal Pink scrolled art-deco design with Petal Pink water-resistant lining and Charcoal Grey straps.
Double-headed zipper for easy opening
3 carrying options: small hobo, long shoulder, stroller clips
1 front pocket with magnetic closure
1 large back zippered pocket with removable changing pad
2 side zippered pockets for cell phone or iPod
4 spacious interior pockets
2 interior bottle/sippy cup pockets
1 interior pacifier pocket
PPB monogrammed plastic wipes case
Dimensions: 10 x 14 x 6.5 in.
Dry clean only. Spot clean liner with damp cloth.

I'm very excited to meet my little girl and tote her around all while still being a stylish mama with my Petunia diaper bag. I have had a few different styles of Petunia bags, but this one is by far my favorite so far. I love the sleek compact design and the way it fits easily on my shoulder. I also love this design and color, my other bags both were blue and I'm happy to have something a little more girly and classic. Go check out Petunia's website, there is sure to be something for anyone looking for that perfect bag to suit their style.

36 weeks

I had an OB appointment this morning and was checked for progress. I'm 1 1/2 cm dialted and baby girl is super low. The midwife said she thinks that baby will be here before our induction date, which I'm actually hoping for. I would way rather her come on her own then have to be induced. Although my induction with Ez was super smooth and quick. But hey, if this little girl wants to meet us that badly, I'm not going to stop her, so as of next week I give her the go ahead to make her arrival.

    I Love Zutano w/ a Giveaway!

Zutano is one of my VERY favorite children's clothing line. I adore the bright colors and adorable prints they have to offer.
I fell in love with Zutano when I was pregnant with Finley. As I would browse our local baby boutique, I was instantly drawn in by the fabulous colors and less baby-ish look of these tiny onesies, kimono tops and leggings.  They were not your average baby clothes and I was in love with every print and every style. Finley of course came home in a Zutano kimono top, leggings and hat. And I knew that all my babies would be coming home in Zutano. Not only did I love the looks of the clothing, I loved the convenience of it. They were easy items to get on baby and I didn't feel like I was pulling her in all different ways, she was easily accessible for diaper changes as well and the fabric was light and soft on her skin.

I also adore Zutanos Cozie line, these hats are just too darling and their gorgeous gowns are also so nice for diaper changes and sleep.

Zutano sent us an outfit for the new baby, which I fully intend her coming home in. I can't wait to see her in it! The colors are great and how cute is this dress?

    A Visit Home

These past few weeks I have been extremely homesick. Nearing the end of my pregnancy and knowing that I most likely will not get over to see my friends and family anytime soon after this baby arrives, I decided it was time to just pack up a bag. throw the kids in the car with some snacks and books and suck it up. 9 hours, 31wks Pregnant with 2 toddlers!
To my surprise the drive was super smooth, we didn't stop too many times, and most times were for all of us to use the bathroom. Which I needed to do just as much as Finley and Ez did. But I did bring along the potty char which was awesome, because I didn't have to unload and load the kids back up each time, we all used the potty chair in the car and it worked out fabulous! So if you are traveling with young kiddos and don't want to run in and out of places, putting shoes and jackets on each time and layering the public toilet seats with toilet paper. Bring your potty chair, it worked like a charm!
We have been spending lots of time with Grandma and Grandpa and having a blast running all over town in this beautiful fall weather! It feels so nice to be home. Even if it is only for a week. I feel way less stressed and since fall is my favorite time of year my heart is warm and happy. I do really miss Aaron, but I needed to come over and take a little break from the everyday, just for my sanity if anything. Photos soon to come of our impromptu adventure!

    Turtle Gus {Review}

Finley is a bit of a scaredy cat at night time and has a hard time sleeping in her own bed. We were sent a Turtle Gus nightlight from BabyZoo to review and having that cute little turtle lit up next to her in bed at night has helped her stay in her own bed quite a bit.
We love how adorable it, how small it is, but also how much light it puts off! This has been a wonderful product for Finley and has also saved Aaron and I some sleepless nights.
Specific details:- Works on 2 AA batteries, so Gus can easily be placed anywhere you like- Easy to operate: the shell functions as light switch- Timer function: continuous, 10 min, 20 min, 30 min.- Variable light intensity.- Uses LED lights and therefore does not get warm.- Huggable.- From 10 months onwards.
We love this product and you will too! Check it out at BabyZoo!

    And....I'M BACK!

PHEW....that was like, what? The longest blogging break in history? My goodness, I apologize over and over for being such a slacker. Well, I wasn't trying to slack on purpose, it really wasn't in my control. But I'm back and here to stay for a while, I hope! If I can even get back to where we left off. I have some great giveaways and couple great product reviews to share with you all, first I will be sharing a little update on our life, then I will try to get a giveaway or two up.
We moved about a month ago, into a really great house and are really happy here. It is much bigger than the house we were in and it will fit all soon to be 5 of us very nicely.
Finley is doing great in school and learning something new everyday. While Finley is at school Ez and I have some great time to spend just us two, and he really seems to enjoy it. Although he does miss his sissy and is super excited when we go to pick her up from school.
Ezra is now my big two year old! It's crazy that he is two already, he is definitely displaying "Terrible Two Syndrome" and driving his mama nutty! He is also talking up a storm and learning new words each day, so that is a lot of fun.
I'm now almost 31 wks pregnant, with our little miss Brady Lynn. And I cannot believe how quickly that has gone by. Before we know it she will be here. It has been a little bittersweet knowing that this is my last pregnancy. I want to meet my new little girl so badly, but then again I don't want to miss out on the rest of this experience by wishing it away so quickly.
Here are a few photos of our fall outings so far!

Sorry about this little break, I hope to come back soon with lots of great stuff for you guys, I really am not trying to be a slacker. But it is turning out that way. I will be back soon!!!!

    Crashed

Our home laptop has crashed and is in the shop, so for the meantime I have been coming up to Aaron's office when I have a spare moment to check emails and such. Sorry the blogging has been pretty minimul and probably will be for the next week or so. Nothing real big or life changing has been going on but if it does I will be sure to let you all know. The weather has been cooling down here a bit and it feels so nice. As most of you know I love fall and can't wait to get some fall crafts and recipes up on the blog once we have a computer at home again. So stay tuned for that.
Finley starts preschool next week and I start MOPS, which I'm very excited for both. I hope to meet some other great moms and make new friends as does Finley, she can't wait to meet new friends and learn new things. As for Ezzie, he is always just along for the ride and so is new baby girl of course. Who by the way no longer has a name, so she will be baby girl until she is born. We have a short list of names we like, nothing we love. But we will be taking that to the hospital with us and name her when we see her.
Other than that, all is well and everyone is doing great! Hope all my readers are having a fab holiday weekend!

    Tea Collection {Giveaway}

I'm sure by now, many of you know I adore Tea Collection clothing. They really do have amazing styles for children and women. I love how different they are, from their patterns to the cut and styles. I fell in love with their new Mercado Mexicano line, where your little Citizen can travel to Mexico in their modern Mexico inspired clothing.
The kid's were sent each a couple of items from the new fall line. Now Ezra doesn't usually get clothes in the mail so when I told him some of them were for him he was beyond excited, ripping his clothes off. Every time he sees these particular items in his closet he points to them requesting to wear there. Now I don't think you could get any better of a review than that! My almost 2 yr old boy requesting the stylish, yet comfortable clothes as well? Bonus! Ezra is now sporting his new Cinco Senses Hoodie and Fuerte Polo everywhere he goes.

Finley is obsessed with dresses. That is all she wants to wear all the time and she also loves to pair them with leggings and long sleeves when it is chilly out. Which is perfect for Tea dresses. They are so adaptable and I love that about them. Your still get the cutesy styles with your comfort and warmth. Finley was sent the Layered Talavera dress and the Adrona Yoke dress, which I must say I love the style of. It is so different, not something I would normally pick out, but Fin looks adorable in it and it fits her very well.

I love Tea Collection and I know you all do too. So here's the deal, Tea collection is giving away a $50.00 GC to one lucky reader!

    Friday, August 19, 2011

It seems a lot of the mamas on other blogs that I follow have been feeling the same as I have lately. It seems there may be something in the air, putting us all in a little blogging funk. Whether it be morning sickness, lack of energy or lack of creative juices, I have noticed the bloggerverse of mamas have been struggling with wanting to keep their blogs up and running. This is something I too, have been struggling with and I keep wondering if blogging is worth it.
I have been in more than just a funk and have been dealing with some depression. Since finding out I was pregnant I started to wean off my meds. I was put on Anti depressants shortly after the arrival of Ez for PPD. I wanted to be safe and go off of them while pregnant so I slowly weaned off and I'm now feeling the effects of doing so. I'm extremely moody, more so than just your typical pregnancy hormones. Very impatient, sad, lonely and all around have absolutely no energy. I'm not sure of a lot of things and feel completely confused. If it weren't for Finley and Ezra I probably wouldn't get out of bed and most days I spend my time alone crying. So with all this on my plate, keeping up with the blog and trying to make it something my reader's enjoy is the last thing on my mind. I wonder if deleting my blog and focusing on my family and myself is the right answer, or putting it all out there on the interwebs, sharing my feelings with my readers and other mothers going through the same type of things or feelings is the right answer. I don't really have an answer for much lately, especially deciding whether or not to keep up with the blog. A break could be used maybe, but then again I feel like I have been less active then normal anyhow, in more than one department.
I do know a visit with my Dr. is a must and I'm going in next week to dicuss my feelings and get a game plan to get a handle on this.
Being a mom is tough, being a young mom away from family and friends in an unknown city and feeling more than alone is even tougher. There have got to be ways to get through this and try to muster up the energy, if not for me then for my kids. I'm probably most likely not going to delete the blog right now, and will try to keep up as much as I can. But if there are a lack of posts for the time being, this is why.

    Curly Girly!

This hair, it slays me. I can't get enough of it. It is drool worthy. Never been cut, never really been touched except to be washed. I never want it to ever leave. please Finley's hair stay beautiful and curly forever!

    Tom and Drew

I always have a hard time finding cute boy's clothing. Everything seems so boring and always seems to come in the same colors, no matter the brand. Girl clothes are so much easier top find and buy, resulting in Finley having a wardrobe bigger than all of us combined. Leaving poor Ezra out. Example, Finley gets a package in the mail on Friday, it's full of beautiful new dresses Grandma send. And WHO is ripping their clothes off trying to get these dresses on as fast as HE can? Yep, you guessed it, Ezra! Poor poor little boy, wants new clothes too.
I came across Tom and Drew and immediately fell in love with their selection of boy clothing. They offer a super cute selection of boy clothing that let's boys be boys. They even include extra pockets for rock collections and snaps for easy to wear woven shirts.
Ezra was sent a selection of adorable tees and we adore them. They have bull dogs, fish and sharks on them. Bright colors and easy to wear. I love how soft they are, how well they hold up and how darling Ezzie looks in them. Yes they look like basic tee shirts, but they really are awesome quality and hold up to stains and outdoor wild play very well. This is an excellent line of clothing for boys, offering everything from tee shirts and jeans to suits and fancy jackets. I really appreciate a line out there that can offer such a great and adorable selection for boys. Thanks Tom and Drew!

    Nursery decor and crafting ideas.

My mom is the best, she really is so talented and has already completed a few items for Opals nursery. I'm in love with the fabrics we chose and the beautiful job my mom completed. I found this awesome idea for a mobile on another blog, and thought it would fit perfectly into our decor for above Opals crib. Hanging fabric doilies.

I can't wait to start doing a few more craft projects, if my mom doesn't beat me to it. Opal's nursery is going to be Grandma's grand creation! I can't wait to see all the peices come together. I also heard that a yellow changing table is coming our way next week, also thanks to my wonderful mother. It has been pretty easy finding vintage type projects for decor, as vintage is in right now. It's all about turning something old into something new. I love the look and feel of it and am so happy we decided to go with this sort of theme for Opal's space.

This is what we have so far and I'm thrilled to see it all in person. My sister comes next week for a visit and is bringing it all with her. Now we need to order the crib and paint our glider and we will be set!

    Opal's "Nursery"

    Nursery Inspiration

We decided that Opal will be sharing a room with us for the first little bit of her life, due to night feedings and the fact that we live in a small home and are hoping to purchase our very own home sometime by the end of the year or beginning of next year. I fell in love with this nursery on OhDeeDoh. I love it, and decided to use it as my inspiration for Opal's nursery, or I guess I should say Opal's space. I will be purchasing a new Jenny Lind style crib in black and I'm on the hunt for a used Jenny Lind changing table. I will be painting it an orangey coral color to add a pop of color and to coordinate the fabric choices. My mom is making Opal's quilt and crib skirt, and will probably eventually some window treatments. But we are waiting on those until she does have her own room, which we will be painting too. But for now we just want to get the little things done, and complete the whole picture once we our in a new home. Here is the fabric we have chosen.

The Crib and the wall hangings my mom put together.

Some of the fabrics we ordered will be put in these wall hangings, she just used fabric she had for example.
Once Opal has a room, it will probably be painted a similar blue color to the nursery above. I'm not certain on what we will do with our rocker quite yet. It could definitely use a new coat of paint and maybe even a new cover for the cushions. We will see as we start to get the main things put together what we want to do with it. So this is what I have so far in my mind. Obviously photos will be posted once it all gets started and comes together!

    It's a

GIRL! Mama was right, I have been 3 for 3. Although our Dr. was kind of a jerk about the whole thing, and kind of came into the room with the attitude that he didn't want to tell us the gender of the baby, the U/S photo definitely shows girl. Dr. is still saying that he says it's girl anatomy, but he is not officially calling girl. The U/S photo looks just like Finley's and nothing like Ezra's. So I'm calling girl for sure! We will have one more U/S later on, so hopefully that will be just more confirmation. Yesterday's experience with our Dr. was less than ideal, very uncomfortable and I will be switching to a new Dr. It doesn't have anything to do with the whole gender thing, it has a lot to do with his attitude about things and the way we were treated. I feel really good about the choice to go to a new Dr. So hopefully it all works out great!

    Tomorrow is the BIG day!

We find out tomorrow BOY or GIRL? What is your guess? Mine is girl, I have been saying that from the beginning and if this baby is boy. Lets just say I will be sooo shocked! I'm so happy our appointment is an early morning one, because I don't think I could wait around all day to go in. The minutes would seem like hours.
I have been able to feel baby moving around quite a bit in there the last few days. Another very active baby we got! I love feeling the little squirt wiggling around, it makes it so much more real for me. Especially since I take forever to gain a bump. We Have a girl name set which is:

    Opal Rae

And we have chosen a new boy name, it was Gibson before. We still don't have a middle name to go with this new name either so any suggestions would help greatly! And the new boy name is:

    Ari

I will update tomorrow afternoon when we get home from our appointment and let you all know BOY or GIRL?!?

    Almost 16 wks

The morning sickness is starting to subside quite a bit, thank goodness! I have still been a bit sick in the mornings as soon as I wake up, but I have been feeling much better through out the days. I'm so happy to be in my second trimester! So heres a bump photo (15wk), I know...nothing there really. But with my first two pregnancies it took FOREVER to show. So I'm guessing this one is not going to be much different. Also we go in for our anatomy scan in one week. I can't wait to find out what we are having, what do you think? Girl or boy? My bet is girl.

    Tommee Tippee Review and {Giveaway}

With two toddlers, sippy cups are a must. But finding the right sippy cup? That has been a problem for us. Seriously every "spill/leak proof" cup we have had was not so. I had yet to find something that didn't leak, that didn't drip or that the lid didn't pop off of easily. Tommee Tippee sent me a set of their Explora truly spill proof Sippy Cups. And truly spill proof they are! I have been beyond thrilled with these cups. They are sturdy, easy to clean and I love that they have a little lid that clicks on and off if the cup gets tipped over. Unlike other valve systems Tommee Tippee's active sensor valve is designed by a physicist to be both sensitive that liquid comes out on demand, yet truly spill and leak proof. The kids seem to like these cups and have had no problem getting any liquids out like they have with other sippy cups we have tried. Overall I'm very happy with these cups and plan on purchasing more.

Tommee Tippee is giving one of my readers a set of their Explora Sippys as well. To enter you must be a public follower of H is for Hillman and head on over to Tommee Tippee and come back here and tell me another item you would be interested in trying.
For an Extra Entry, "Like" Tommee Tippee on FB and tell them on their wall H is For Hillman Sent you. Leave a comment here telling me you did so.
Giveaway ends July 19th, winner will be announced July 20th.

    Been A bit

We are finally home from our little vacay. We had originally planned to only stay for Fourth of July weekend, but I hurt my neck and couldn't move for a couple days so we decided to stay for the week, while Aaron drove back home and then came back and got us. He had some work things he needed to bring to work and back from work to the Bellingham plant so it actually worked out perfect. We decided not to go back at the end of July. Which I just wasn't looking forward to doing the drive by myself with the kids. Although it is an easy drive, it's long and a 3 yr old and 1 yr old just do not like being in the car for that long, with very little to do. I'm very sad I'm going to miss my friends wedding though, I really wanted to be there. But it is just too much for us all to do again in such a short time frame. So now on the agenda for the rest of the summer is to try to enjoy this heat and pray that Fall comes quickly. I know, I know, I shouldn't wish summer away. But this heat is killing me. I usually love hot weather, always have. I'm having a hard time being out in it for long periods of time this year though. It could have something to do with being pregnant and still a little sick or it could just be that I'm getting old and would rather stay cool. Whichever, I'm ready for fall. I'm ready for crock pot and dutch oven meals, squash, pumpkins, and beautiful sunny cool crisp days. Aww I love Fall. Just thinking about it makes me smile!
And now for some photos of the munchkins from our visit. We had a great time, the kids were spoiled rotten of course, which included my dad pulling out his cotton candy machine on a couple of occasions just for the kids. It was wonderful and quite the fun treat! We also visited Hovander Park, which was beautiful and so fun for the kids to run around on a warm summer day!

    Home For the Fourth

Finley last year on the fourth!

I have been very homesick lately. Being pregnant and super hot in Montana this last week I have felt stressed to max. So after a slight breakdown to Aaron, we decided to take an impromptu trip home to Washington. So we loaded the truck up and headed to my parent's yesterday afternoon. We are here safe and sound and have lots of fun little things planned.
Finley was an absolute gem the whole way over, Ezra a different story, but what 20month old likes to be a car for 8 hrs?. We have a special day planned for Finley. Pedicures, Tea Party and a new dress all with Mama and Grandma. While Ez hangs with dad.
I'm so relieved to be here, even if it's only for a few days. I already feel so much more relaxed and less stressed. Photos of our trip to come and a great giveaway as soon as I have a moment! Enjoy your weekend and your 4Th everyone.
